Purpose

Mission & vision

01.A

Our mission

No student should miss an event because it was announced in a group chat they do not follow. The guide centralizes announcements into one authoritative calendar, updated continuously.

01.B

Our vision

A university community where participation is the default: every student sees, filters, and attends the events that matter to them with zero friction.

Architecture

How the guide works

02.A

Central content

Events live as structured data files in one place. Adding, editing, or removing an event never touches the site core: the directory, the homepage, and the detail pages all update from that single source.

02.B

Static & fast

Pages are pre-built plain HTML, CSS, and TypeScript-compiled JavaScript. There is no server logic, no database, and nothing to slow you down; the guide loads instantly on any connection.

02.C

Bilingual by design

Every piece of content is stored with its Arabic and English text side by side, so the Arabic layer of the guide can arrive without reshaping any page or data model.

Editorial

Event submission policy

Proposed events pass a short editorial check before publication:

01

Academic relevance: the event must serve students or staff of the university.

02

Complete information: title, date, location, organizer, and description are required.

03

Scheduling check: the editorial team avoids conflicts with major exams and official ceremonies.

04

Respectful content: events must comply with university values and regulations.

Good to know

Accepted events appear in the directory within one working day, and featured placement on the homepage is reserved for events happening within the current week.
